Do baptist and Christian believe the same thing?

Of course! A Baptist is just a specific set of doctrines in the faith. A denomination, like Methodist and Protestant. As long as the basic belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died and rose as penance for our sins, is upheld, then one is a Christian.
