What is the main habitat for an insecta?

insects live on land and some live in water, such as water beetles. insects live in all climates especially the warm climates.

It really depends on the insect. Insects make up 20% of all animals on earth and they are everywhere. A recent research paper showed that Butterflies actually thrive when there are different terrains available. Insects exist in deserts, forest, urban and all areas.

~I read something that said insects made up 3/4 all the other creatures on Earth. Was that wrong?--Was it only 20%?
