1988 Honda vt600 fuel pump won't turn on when ignition switch is turned to run?

Given the proper utlizaition of materials it is possible to convert the pump fed system into a gravity-based fuel system directly connecting the fuel tank to the fuel filter and bypassing the fuel pump altogether. This will give the engine sufficient fuel to start and will draw in fuel with the assistance of gravity.
