What does a newsreader do?

The main responsibilities of a newsreader are,

1. To carry out in-depth research to a board brief
2. To write material for programme scripts
3. To undertake interviewing and reporting duties
4. To report and present bulletins
5. To produce live and pre-recorded radio news
6. To originate and develop programme ideas
7. To provide briefing for reporters
8. To operate broadcast requirements
9. to service the requirements of the network newsrooms
10. On occasions, to administrate the programme budgets
11. To develop and maintain local contacts
12. At all times to carry out duties In accordance with regional broadcasting health and safety guidelines policy.

The newsreader will do these 12 major duties.
