- To write material for programme scripts
- To undertake interviewing and reporting duties
- To report and present bulletins
- To produce live and pre-recorded radio news
- To originate and develop programme ideas
- To provide briefing for reporters
- To operate broadcast requirements
- to service the requirements of the network newsrooms
- On occasions, to administrate the programme budgets
- To develop and maintain local contacts
- At all times to carry out duties In accordance with regional broadcasting health and safety guidelines policy.
The newsreader will do these 12 major duties.
