What does the hand gesture mean when the right hand is made into a fist and the arm is moved to strike the left side of the chest?

It's a greeting or farewell hand gesture, roughly equivalent to the spoken 'peace out'. The fist touching the heart is supposed to indicate that the on greeted is close to the heart of the one making the gesture. Most used among afro-americans and dreadlock bearers in urban areas.
