How are free-masons initiated?

The two simplest methods are as follows:

1. Ask a man that you know is a Freemason.

2. Contact any Masonic Lodge.

In order to join Freemasonry, one must begin the process by asking a Freemason for entry into the fraternity. There follows a process by which one is evaluated for membership, but asking is the first step.

An individual is never invited to become a Freemason, as this is contrary to Masonic tenets.
