The National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP), commonly known as the Nazi Party, rose to power in Germany during the early 1930s. In the July 1932 elections, they became the largest party in the Reichstag, although they did not achieve an outright majority. By January 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor, leading to the establishment of a totalitarian regime. The political instability of the Weimar Republic and the economic crisis contributed significantly to their rise.
