What is hard balsa?

Balsa is a type of wood often used in model aereoplanes and as a filler material. It's available in different densities. Lower densities are softer and higher densities are harder. Hard balsa would be a fairly heavy type, but still light when compared to ordinary construction wood from the lumber yard.
