How do you get HD signal on analong TV?

With a converter for digital to analog, cost about $40. from Walmart, RadiOShack, etc. The cheap ones all produce poor pictures but I have one from KWORLD brand that puts out a better picture, component outputs but it is almost impossible to operate.
