The only sure way to prevent the spread of gingervitus is to remove the area which you were bit entirely. Douse the infected area with kerosine, then alight it to make sure that there is nothing contagious. If your hair begins to change color, or you begin to develop an excess amount of freckles, do not make contact with anyone, cover yourself in kerosine, and burn yourself to death.

In less extreme cases, keep the infected area below your heart (so it won't quickly spread to your inter body). Go to the nearest house (who cares if it's yours or not!), wash the area, and it the bite is deep enough to where blood is noticeable, treat like an animal bite. If it doesn't get better, or if it gets worse, contact a doctor.
