  • The Word 'fat' shouldn't enter into this as all brides glow on their wedding day and it doesn't matter if they are fat, slim or thin. A heavy set bride should not wear anything frilly. To make herself look slimmer she can go to the wedding shop and buy a 'body slimmer' or a 'widows bodice' that is tightened in the back making the bride look slimmer through the stomach and waist. The lines of the dress should be plain and below the bust line the design should have a wedged V to make the waist look smaller. The skirt part of the wedding dress should hang from the hip (not tight) and flow down either on the shorter or long side. It is not a good idea to try to hide any undesirable bulges by wearing a wide frilly wedding gown as it would make the bride look heavier. Simple is best with great lines sewn into the wedding dress and it looks very modern. Many young brides are getting away from the frilly dresses and wearing the more simple lined wedding dresses. On top, slightly off the shoulder (not too far off the shoulder.) Go classic and plain. Every bride is beautiful!
