For Free Men; Working in the fields growing produce or working at a trade; going to the market to sell or buy goods; attending political meetings; serving in political appointments and as jurors in trials; fathering children; teaching their children; and if rich enough, going to the theatre and the gymnasium and then to the perfume shops for gossiping or plotting; and attending military training and on campaigns or as sailor and rowers in the navy.

For Free Women: Working in the house and garden; bearing and raising children; working at spinning and weaving; getting out occasionally for at women's festival, but otherwise confined to the house.

For Slaves: Drudgery in the fields or trades; females drudgery in the house and garden; being prostituted by the master or at large.
