Why does the engagement ring look more extravagant and cost more than the wedding ring isn't the wedding ring more significant in meaning?

* * It's a matter of individual taste. Some women don't mind a small diamond ring, while other women prefer a good sized engagement ring and it use to mean years ago the bigger the diamond the more prosperous the future husband was. Today some women don't want an engagement ring and a simple gold band with an inscription on it will suffice. Women should be more aware of what their future husband's financial affairs are and if they can afford such a lavish ring and not put themselves into debt. * Mainly because men think when they show that engagement ring, and its beautiful, they will say yes and they wont say they dont wanna get married once they see the marriage ring! * Because a wedding ring is supposed to be worn at all times, and an engagement ring is both impractical as well as potentionally dangerous in some situations (risk of injury or robbery).
