Fewer than you burn. They say that the average man burns 2000-2500 calories a day, and the average woman 1500-2000. Therefore, if you're the average woman you should be consuming 1200-1500, and the average man 1700-2000.
Remember though that drinks also contain calories. Also, although consuming fewer calories will help you lose weight, it is not recommended on its own as a weight loss programme as it will lower your metabolica rate (the rate at which you burn calories during the day). You should also exercise to keep up or increase your metabolic rate otherwise you'll just put the weight back on after the diet.
