Do not ever open an attachment from someone you don't know. If you get an attachment from someone you do know, but aren't expecting it, ask them if they sent it.

I had a colleague who APPARENTLY got an email from her mother. It wasn't really from her mother, it was a spoofed address and it infected her computer.
