What is the old name of Madinah-tul-Munawarah?

The old name of Madinah-tul-Munawarah is Yathrib. Before the advent of Islam, it was a major oasis town inhabited by various tribes, including the Aws and Khazraj. The city gained significance after the Prophet Muhammad and his followers migrated there in 622 CE, leading to its renaming as Madinah, meaning "the City" or "the City of the Prophet."
