What can humans do to protect themselves from a blizzard?

Most animals that would go outside in a winter climate are able to tolerate even bitter cold and snow for a short period. Try to avoid getting their fur soaking wet, as water wicks away body heat and renders fur's natural insulating properties useless.

Dry your pets off as soon as you return indoors, and provide access to a source of heat, should you -- or they -- feel that they require it.
