A Masonic apron is typically white in color and is made of lambskin or leather. It usually consists of a rectangular portion with a triangular flap at the topmost portion that overlaps the front of the rectangular portion. The apron is typically fastened to the wearer using straps or ropes that are affixed to the top portion of the apron where the rectangular and triangular portions meet.
Such aprons are frequently adorned with numerous decorations as an individual attains positions within the Lodge, but the pure-white leather or lambskin apron is the distinguishing badge of a Freemason.
