Why do we not know yet if we live in a multiverse?

The concept of a multiverse remains speculative because it is difficult to test or observe directly. Current scientific theories, such as string theory and cosmic inflation, suggest the possibility of multiple universes, but they do not provide definitive evidence. Additionally, the nature of these other universes, if they exist, may be such that they are fundamentally unobservable from our own universe. As a result, while intriguing, the multiverse hypothesis remains largely theoretical at this stage.
