The most famous is Mt. Vesuvius, who's eruption buried Pompeii and Herculaneum in Italy in 79 AD. Others are:

- Mount Vancouver, in the Yukon Province on the US border in Canada.
- Mt Van Hoevenberg near Lake Placid, NY.
- Varevasht mountain is located in The central Alborz range in Iran.
- Venado Peak in the Taos Mountain group in NM.
- Mont Ventoux in the south of France.
- Vesle Galdhopiggen, the seventh highest peak in Norway.
- Vestal Peak in the Grenadier Range and the San Juan National Forest in southeast CO.
- Mount Vinson, the highest point on the continent of Antarctica.
- Mount Vishnu, British Columbia, Canada
- Vitosha, near Sofia, Bulgaria
- Vorterkaka Nunatak, also Antarctica, but 1200 feet less than Vinson.
