How do you get a pokedoll in Pokemon Silver?

Referring to Pokemon Silver for GameBoy Color:

#1 Way -

You go to GoldenRod City, and buy a PokeDoll from the PokeMart located there.

#2 Way -

At the beginning of the game ask your mum to save your money.

Eventually she will call you, explaining how she sent some of your money (1,500) to get a cute little doll. The doll is located in your room. Simply remove it by going back to your home.
