When you hug a guy do you hug over their shoulders or under?

Well I agree with both of you but it seems to me it depends if you are the one that's going to hug or if it's the other person. If you are approaching him to hug him, then you go over, but if he was the one appraoching you, chances are he will go over. It all has to do with personal opinions.

You never hug a guy under the arms. I don't know where these people got this info, it sounds like a girl who never asked others about how she hugs that gave it to you. Bottom line is all guys like to hug a girl around the waist. It makes them feel like they hold a special part in the girl. Also, if a guy is forced to hug over he feels like he's being put in the female position. The best way to learn if an individual guy is different is to watch his arms and go with whatever he's giving you, but they will usually be going low. Guys are used to going low for hugs and they like it, if you ever observe two completely straight guys going to hug and they look awkward, its because they both are trying to go under but only one can.

I totally agree. You hug a guy over the shoulders and let him hug you around the waist. That way you are looking up at him.
