What changes occurred on earth during the most recent ice age?

During the most recent ice age, which occurred around 20,000 years ago, large parts of Earth were covered in ice sheets and glaciers. Sea levels were much lower due to the amount of water locked up in ice, and there were changes in climate patterns and ecosystems. Human populations spread to different regions as they adapted to the changing environment.
