Check engine light on your 1996 Camry was on took it to AutoZone it had a bad o2 sensor replace it reset the light and 2 days later the light is back went back to AutoZone and the code was o2 sensor?

1996 was the switch over year from OBDI to OBDII so look for a second O2 sensor after the catalytic converter.
