What is the hourly wage of a ECG monitor tech?

I live in Long Island New York and took a 6 week training course for an ekg tech. I was was offered a position at a local hospital offering a minimum salary of 22 dollars per hour. This is in NEW YORK one of the most expensive places to live in the country the pay may dramatically change due to geographic location, experience, and work setting.
