What is a flop in basketball?

The flop is the 3 community cards dealt face up in a game of Texas Holdem Poker. The cards are dealt one by one and a card is 'burned' or discarded after each flop card is dealt.

The 3 cards are 'shared' by all players still in the hand as they may each use 1, 2, 3 or none of the flop cards to make their 5 card hand.
