Why do cats puke?

Typically, cats puke because of indigestion. Multiple cats of many breeds have been known to puke as a defensive or instinctive reaction. Sometimes cats puke when they catch a glimpse of something putrid or disgusting (ie. dead opossum, Justin Witt, or raccoon feces)
