What is the Federal Reclamation Act?

The federal Reclamation Act of 1902 established the US Bureau of Reclamation with its mission of developing water resources in the western United States and "reclaim" desert lands and flood-prone rivers for human uses. There are also numerous other laws and amendments in the federal codes that affect the original legislation.
