How do swans lay their eggs?

Swans are birds, they do not give birth, the female lays 5 to 10 eggs, in a nest by water, that take from 35 to 42 days to hatch. The female does most of the egg incubation, but every now and then the male will replace her for a while so she can have a swim and a 'bite to eat'.
