When and why was the presidio at tubac established?

The presidio at Tubac was established in 1752 by the Spanish as a military outpost to protect against threats from Native American tribes and to secure Spanish territorial claims in what is now southern Arizona. Its location served as a strategic point for trade and communication between Mexico and the northern frontier.
