Remove orange juice taste from plastic container?

My grandmother suggests pouring boiling soap water into the container, or put dish soap and hot water and microwave till boiling usually gets this smell/taste out. In coffee pots I use lemon juice, ice chunks, and salt and swish around, this might also work for juice containers... To get out the stains in plastic containers, use vinegar and swish around...
