Location

Size of Practice

Size of Patient Load

Fee Schedule

Overhead (aka. taxes, heat water, salaries for your employees, etc;)

Private Practice vs. Salaried

Provide services like Invisalign, etc;

I know orthodontists that make as little as $200,000 a year, and some that make as much as $4,000,000 a year.
