First you get an insurance license in the state where you want to start marketing. Then you go out and sell the product to retail customers. You do this so you obtain first hand experience with the product and the insurance company and the lead source you want to use. You should try to sell as much as possible so you can get a higher contract. After you get the higher contract you make sure it is a recruiting contract and then you can take on agents under you. As you recruit you provide contracting materials to agents and technical back up support. That is to say you should have deep knowledge of the niche market your products. Over time you provide support to your agents. If you treat them right they will come back. If you are like some IMOS and make phony promises the Word will get out. You will be here today and have to recruit another sucker tomorrow.
