yes it does cause lips can get

poked by briers and teeth can get the leaves or grass

in their teeth
Horses use their teeth for eating, defense, and play.

Eating they pick up hay or other food and chew it like we do.

Defense they will nip at you and their jaw has to come all the way down before it comes up, so don't get your fingers bit, you might not get them back

and horses will nip at each other for play.
