Hospitals do not generally run toxicology screens on newborns unless they have a suspicion there is something wrong. If a tox screen was done, the hospital employees would be required to report a positive result to social services. It would then be up to the case worker what further action (if any) was required. I am sure that you know this, but smoking marijuana during pregnancy has not been studied and is not recommended.
