How did industrialization change the way physical features of the city in the nineteenth century?

Industrialization brought major change on a global scale and greatly promoted urbanization. Cities became filled with many buildings such as factories and a very large, crowded population, and pollution was not uncommon as trash often filled the streets, the air was quite dirty and the water supply contaminated as well.
