Where should the cam lobes be at tdc on a single cam motorcycle?

Start with flywheel on the T mark with the piston up . The cam lobes should both be down . With the lobes down the pointer on the cam gear should be straight up , pointing toward the mark on the engine housing . Make sure your camchain tensioner is removed . Put cam chain on cam gear and check that all marks are aligned . This is also where you need to adjust your valves .
