The biggest gang in California are the Surenos. although 18th street gang seems big..its members are spread out everywhere, as Surenos stay in areas with big numbers controlling their "barriOS" also known as neighborhoods or territory where that certain click/set originated from. The Surenos(southsiders or southerners) are under the control of the Mexican mafia, which controls most prisons in the U.S.A. Surenos have spread through the country throughout the years and is now one of the most known and fear'd gangs. It is made up of many different clicks/sets such as El Monte Flores,Florencia,Whitefence,Cyclones trece, Lil hill, Oakland surenos,ULS13, ect.
