Where is the missing dollar in the riddle?

There is no missing dollar. They do the math in the wrong order. They are charged $30. The clerk gives them $5 dollars back. The bellhop takes two and gives them three dollars. 25+2+3=30. They did pay $9 dollars each, but that's just there to throw you off.
