How deep can seals go?

Seals are capable of impressive dives, with some species reaching depths of over 1,500 meters (4,900 feet). For example, the WedDELL seal has been recorded diving to depths of around 1,800 meters (5,900 feet). The depth a seal can reach often depends on the species, with factors such as physiology and habitat influencing their diving capabilities.
