What is the art of John Tandy?

John Tandy (1905 - 1982) was a British artist who is best known for his Art Deco/Modernist designer carpets. A fine example of his work is illustrated in the book "Art Deco and Modernist Carpets" by Susan Day. An acrylic painting by him is owned by the Cleveland Museum of Art. One of his wood carvings was recently sold at auction, and can be viewed on Artnet.com.
