Does a functionalist believe that people have a soul?

Without meaning to be horribly pedantic this question is essentially meaningless without a rigorous definition of what is meant by the soul in this context.

I'd love to try and answer this question but I don't actually know what the question means.


I know this may sound like intellectual game playing and deliberate avoidance of the issue but the concept of soul is massively ambiguous and at best ill defined. Tell me what you mean and then I'll try and answer the question.
