Is Barack Obama's Hawaiian birth certificate currently being shown the original or a copy?

He has made the original available many times: to journalists, to the governor of Hawaii, and a scan of it has been posted to several online fact-checking websites, including Factcheck.org and Politifact.com . It is a true and valid birth certificate, and the only people who refuse to accept it are people called "Birthers," who insist he was not born in America even though there is no credible evidence to support their belief. Short answer: the president was born in Hawaii, in 1961, and his birth certificate is in fact valid.
