What is neo asceticism?

Asceticism is avoiding pleasure because it is enjoyable. Many medieval mystics (Francis of Assisi, Bernard of Clervaux) avoided doing anything they enjoyed, because they believed enjoying yourself was sinful.

Some modern American cults also seem to avoid enjoying themselves just because they think enjoying yourself is wrong. The Amish and the Mennonites have been accused of NeoAsceticism (thought the True Love Waits lobby are also a likely example).
