How do you replace a headlight bulb on a 98 BMW 740il?

Take the black plastic weather cap off by unsnapping it at the top and pushing back. If the lamp is on the passenger side, remove the air filter housing by unsnapping the 4 retaining snaps, removing the filter, and removing the bolt at the rear of the housing. Loosen the hose clamp from the fresh air intake. Remove the filter housing. At the back of the headlamp element is a wire clip, pivot it in and up. Remove the wire from the element and replace the element. Reverse the process.
