This is probably part of a mating ritual. The female will "test" the male's strength when she decides if she should spawn (lay eggs) with him. Do you have any slate rocks in your tank? Oscars really like slate to lay their eggs on. If you add some or one large one you'll probably see them cleaning it off with their mouths and hanging out around it side by side sort of shivering...this is another sign of spawning. If you do a partial water change in the tank and give them some live food (some people also recommend blinking the tank light but this is up to you it may stress them out) it will simulate a thunderstorm ie. rainy season when Oscars mate. This may help them lay the eggs sooner since they'll feel the time is right. Also, the parents will take care of the eggs and fry-just remove any other fish so they don't have to constantly defend the babies. :) good luck
