Who was nabal?

He was a very rich man that did not give any heed to David. The Bible says "The Lord struck Nabal and he died." It does not say how he died, only that he did.

Nabal was the husband of Abigail, who became King David's wife after Nabal died. He was a man "churlish and evil in his doings;" (1Samuel 25.3)
