What a long distance relationship?

Before the popularity of internet dating, long-distance relationships were not as common but were certainly in existence and were a successful way of keeping a relationship flourishing over distance. But we've come a long way from the time the only communication between long distance lovers was telephone or corresponding via mail. With the help of the internet, long distance relationships have exploded in popularity as they become easier to sustain with the use of modern technology. You might be surprised at the number of people currently involved in an LDR, people from all walks of life, social status and ages.

Long distance relationships are always hard to work with. It normally depends on how far away he or she is but it does not mean the relationship will not work out. I have maintained a long distance relationship for 3 years already. To see each other would require either one of us to fly a total of 5 hours to and fro. Each of us make it a point to either call or email each other often while we're apart. Furthermore, we also make it a point to visit one another 2-3 times a year. That make it 6 times a year for both of us. In the end, maintaining a long term relationship boils down to trust and how much you appreciate each other company when you're together.
