What alphabet do Vietnamese use?

Vietnamese uses the Latin-based alphabet known as "Quốc Ngữ." This writing system was developed in the 17th century by Portuguese missionaries and later refined by French missionaries. It consists of 29 letters, including additional diacritics to indicate tones and certain phonetic nuances. Quốc Ngữ replaced traditional Chinese characters and has been the official writing system since the early 20th century.
