Well, that depends on many things like: Location - concrete is cold, so where are you? Use - what is it going to be used for? Finish - What kind of finish do you desire? Age - How old is the concrete? Cost - How much do you intend or plan on spending? Maintenance - which will depend on the type of material you use on your concrete floor. Certainly, if this concrete flooring is in your living space, you don't want to leave it bare. I've done some wonderful work with Acid Staining, where there's no limit to design. You can cut groves in the concrete to make it look like tile, and stain it to look like marble. Remember, though, that concrete flooring is colder than tile, wood, etc. You'll want to inspect your concrete for cracks, stains, solidity, and moisture. Prior to staining your concrete, you'll need to wash is really good, with acid, then neutralize it to remove ALL of the acid. So, to answer your question without getting too far off with something that you may not even be considering...yes, concrete flooring can be good, even beautiful, and livable. I've done concrete flooring in million dollar houses, as well as commercial jobs. I've done it more in commercial buildings than residential homes. I've only done 2 residential homes with acid stained concrete in the last year.
